Coral Reef

This is part of the second largest coral reef in the world and it ends here on the island of Guanaja, which creates a beautiful setting for diving and snorkeling.

On the island you can find coral reefs in the north and south that are characterized for wall diving, deep diving, caves, mazes and fish abundance. On the south side stand more sponges (they are so big they cannot be embraced with human arms and the ones farther down  are much larger).

These are called alcorns, elcorns, gorgonians, parasol, fan, brain coral and many more.

Waterfalls

Located in the north band of the island in  Michael Rock, 30 minutes away from the community of El Cayo and 20 minutes from the airport, this beautiful site can be reached by either private means or by  boat taxi. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes from the beach to the waterfall.

The trip there and back is about 2 hours depending on how long you want to stay . Parts of the trail are easy since one is walking on firm ground. However,  there is a section  of the path where it is difficult to pass as the trail follows the creek up and which to cross you have to climb large boulders and rocks that are smooth and are in the creek.  One trail  is covered by thick vegetation of forest.  From this  trail, head on to the beach andl you reach the waterfall. During the trail you can observe many species of flora and fauna, breathe fresh air, and enjoy a peaceful environment where you can forget the stress of city life  and enjoy nature.

The Waterfall is beautiful, as it measures about 30 feet  (10 meters),  the water is cool and you can stand under it and enjoy the water covering your entire body. This is a unique experience only found in the Bay Islands, specifically on the Island of Guanaja, the only of the three islands that has fresh water and many more natural attractions than the others.

Dina Beach

One of the best beaches on the island  that you can visit and spend some quality time in with family and friends.  Here is fantastic to Snorkel because it is located near one of the most beautiful dive sites and therefore it is not necessary to go offshore to the banks to see a variety of fish species. It is the most visited beach by guanajeños and national and international tourists
